Hi! I'm Natalie.

Founder and performance nutrition expert.

I created The Equestrian Dietitian to help fellow equestrians: create healthy relationships with food & their bodies, cut through the constantly changing & confusing nutrition information out there, and learn how to sustainably fuel & nourish their bodies without stress or guilt.

My philosophy over eight years of practice is guided by combining the most up-to-date nutrition science along with each equestrian's preferences, schedule, & lived experince to create a truly individualized and sustainable plan.

 

From dedicated amateurs to riders at the top of the sport, I understand the culture and demands of this sport & lifestyle and will help you learn how to use food & nutrition to work WITH your body, not against it.​

We combine the most up-to-date sports nutrition science with your preferences, schedule, and lived experiences to create a customized non-diet performance nutrition plan that will help you achieve your athletic goals in and out of the saddle.

Together, we'll create a customized, flexible fueling plan that will help you achieve sustained energy levels throughout the day.

A more positive relationship with food

This serves as a strong foundation to being able to sustainably implement food and nutrition strategies that can help improve health and athletic performance. We practice through a non-diet, intuitive eating lense to make sure every equestrian we work with is able to create and foster a life-long healthy relationship with food.

Knowing what to eat at shows

Together, we'll create a show day fueling plan so you can feel confident knowing what, when, and how much of which foods to eat around your rides. We'll navigate what to eat in case of show nerves, low appetite from elevated adrenaline levels, and develop an individualized fueling plan to give you that competitive edge you might otherwise miss without an adequate fueling & hydration plan.

Optimized recovery

Get back to your rides and other physical activity feeling stronger, less sore, and more energized. With personalized nutrition plans tailored to your needs, you'll learn how to incorporate specific foods and supplements that have been shown to support muscle recovery and reduce soreness.

Improved body image

Diet culture, weight stigma, and body shaming run rampant in our sport. We believe ever body has a place in the equestrian world and deserves to feel their absolute best. We are trained in body image work and help equestrians improve their body image through compassionate, weight-inclusive care.
